MoACTS

Overview

CASGSL provides trauma focused community outreach and training to practicing professionals in child-serving sectors through its training division, Missouri Academy of Child Trauma Studies (MoACTS).  Training on numerous child trauma topics is provided annually to over 1,000 parents, professionals and community organizations through contracts.

MoACTS sponsors a monthly Child Trauma Colloquium series that focuses on a wide range of issues related to childhood traumatic stress and is held in the auditorium of the Weinman building.  Attendees typically include therapists, juvenile officers, law enforcement, teachers and case managers.

MoACTS’ primary training population is community based professionals working in a child centered sector (e.g. child protection, education, mental health) in Missouri and surrounding areas.  MoACTS is designed to function as a multidisciplinary training program aimed at helping all child focused professionals become more trauma informed (e.g. child protection investigators/case managers, child abuse detectives, educators, deputy juvenile officers, pediatric medical personnel, school counselors, mental health providers).

Professionals can be referred to the MoACTS program in a variety of different ways, largely dependent on the organization or entity that is funding/hosting the training.

For more information on how to get referred to a MoACTS training contact(314) 516-6798.
